After a 28-year legal career in the Juvenile Justice system, I stepped down and pursued a life-long dream of writing fiction. I wrote 16 urban fantasy books published under the pen name of Ally Shields; 2nd editions of seven of those novels are currently available on Amazon (and through KU).
In 2019, I switched to my favorite genre - historical mysteries - and began the Viscount Ware Mystery series. Books 1, 2 and 3 are available to purchase (and I have a contract with Camel Press for seven in the series with the possibility of more) under the name of JL Buck. Along with enjoying my eight grandchildren, I cannot imagine a better retirement!
